PERAK CRISIS : THE ONLY WAY TO GO

In NTV7 news at 8pm yesterday, Tun Dr. Mahathir suggested that BN should move a motion of no-confidence to regain the legitimacy for Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir as Menteri Besar. That is the only way for BN to go if they want to stay in power. Although Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak had said that BN is not fear of snap election, but in my personal opinion, I don’t think that snap election is a good idea for BN even though snap election is the only way to solve Perak crisis.

In my opinion, other alternatives will surely link back to judiciary which will come back to square one. Take the motion of no-confidence for example. BN for sure will succeed since they have the majority. But a few questions will arise.

Question 1 :
Who should be the speaker for the meeting? If Sivakumar were to handle the meeting, I am doubt that he will approve the motion. If Ganesan were to handle the meeting, legitimacy of him becoming speaker can be questioned and brought back to court.

Question 2 :
Is 7th May meeting valid? If the meeting and under-the-tree-meeting are not valid, then the State Assembly will automatically be dissolved for not having meeting in 6 months. So, the question of validity has to be brought back to court.

So, at the end, all the alternatives can be questioned and brought back to court. It would not solve the crisis. The only way is by dissolving the State Assembly. That is the only way to avoid all legal hassles.
